Re: Introduce Yourselves!

Hello,

My name's Adam, and I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania (constant splitting headache) and Organic Hallucinosis. I was diagnosed 2 1/2 yrs. ago at the age of 31, and it has ruined my life. The neurologists who diagnosed me discovered calcifications on my right temporal lobe, as well as a brain asymmetry. They've coined my Epilepsy "uncontrolled" at this point, as I've been on just about every seizure med under the sun, with little or no result. I'm currently on 800 mg Lamictal, but it's been less than successful. I've taken steps to get registered for medical marijuana, which is legal here in Colorado. I've read amazing accounts by Epileptics concerning the benefits they have gained from marijuana....truly amazing stories of drastic decreases in seizure activity.

My life did a complete 180 once I was diagnosed....can't work, can't drive....it was very hard going from a healthy, working guy to a guy on disability who has to rely on others constantly, or who can't make what were once simple plans to hang out with friends somewhere because they're scared I'm going to have a seizure in their presence. If I didn't have the most wonderful Wife in the world, I don't know where I'd be right now.
